Today, the presentation of a new project was held at the International Foundation of Sport, Tourism and Youth. A book about Georgian champions and participants of the Helsinki Olympic Games will be published with the funding of the Foundation.

The book, authored by sports journalist Mr. Lasha Goduadze, will contain sketches of three legendary champions. As well as data on other Georgian prize-winners participated in the Helsinki Olympics.

This year, Exactly 70 years have passed since the historical sports event for Georgia. In 1952, three Georgian athletes, Davit Tsimakuridze, Medea Jugheli and Rafael Chimishkiani, won the Helsinki Olympics, two of whom died.

The book is dedicated to the first Georgian Olympic champion in weightlifting, Rafael Chimishkiani.
